Iris "Gigi" Andrea Boyette, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Atrium Health Main.
The family is hosting a memorial service that will be at 11 a.m. on December 6, 2024, at Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. The service and visitation will both take place in the church chapel.
Born in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Guido Garcia and Ena Gonzales. She was a strong believer and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Lovingly known as Gigi, she was a graduate of Campbell University where she received her BA Degree in Music and Education. She touched many lives as an educator and retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg School District. She loved spending time with her family and friends, worshipping her Savior in church, travelling and loving on her dog, Buddy.
Surviving are her husband, James Albert Boyette (married 60 years); her children, Jacqueline Sirico (Michael), Jeanette Duffey (Joel), Jimmy Boyette (Stefani); siblings, Enita Garcia, Ruby Diaz, Guido Garcia and grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Caroline, Jake, Ryan, Jaden, Liana and little Jimmy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Justin. She was also loved dearly by her American family, the Allred's.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Calvary Church Global Missions, Samaritan's Purse or His Purpose Ministry (Gigi's Supplies Program: Zelle to 305-804-8952)
