Iris Jean Casey

Iris Jean Casey, age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, at home surrounded by family. She was born January 11, 1956, in New Orleans, the daughter of Florine Schillenkamp Bullard and William Bullard of Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Bucktown. Iris was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She retired as a school bus driver for Jefferson Parish before becoming a dedicated homemaker for her family. Iris treated every child she encountered as her own, from the children on her school bus to friends and classmates of her children. She was an incredibly talented baker and seamstress. Iris' warmth and love could be felt through her baked goods, as well as through her thoughtful, handmade, sewn gifts. She was a gifted athlete and an avid volleyball player. Iris was the ultimate friend and confidant; her love and loyalty were treasured by those who knew her. Iris is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dennis Sr., her son Dennis Jr. (Tiffany), daughter Kelly (Emery), and grandchildren Michael, Katherine, and Emma. She is also survived by her sister Caroline Dominguez and brother Johnny Bullard (Brenda), and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Florine Bullard and father William Bullard, stepmother Mary Bullard, and brothers Jerry Bullard and Tommy Bullard. A Celebration of Iris' Life and Services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner. Visitation will be held from 1 pm - 3 pm followed by a Service at 3 pm.
