Ms. Iris Nereida Castaneda

Pawtucket – Iris N. Castaneda, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Fidel Garcia and Belen Cartagena.
Iris was a graduate of the Sawyer School, Class of 1995 and went on to work in the accounting department of Amica Mutual Insurance Company for over ten years. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, shopping, sewing, tending flowers and anything to do with elephants. Iris will be lovingly remembered as a beautiful, kind and loving person, with a little bit of a sarcastic sense of humor. She was also very proud of her rich Puerto Rican Heritage.
Iris leaves four children, Fred Nolasco, Angel Morales, Adria and William Garcia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild with one more on the way, and many siblings. She was the grandmother of the late Juan G. Morales.
