Iris Carol Hadley (née Knight) passed away on September 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 6, 1933, in Morgantown, Indiana, Carol will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and unmistakable sass.

To her family, she was a source of strength, laughter, and unconditional support. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and siblings. At the heart of her life was her beloved husband, Arthur Ray, her constant partner for 70 years.

Beyond her devotion to family, Carol found joy in reading and quilting, and she gave generously of herself to her church. She loved Jesus and she had an extraordinary gift for making others feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ray Hadley; her parents, Ollie Lela Knight and Paul James Knight; her sisters, Irene Whitlock, Pauline Knight, and Crystal Earlywine; and her brothers, Arthur Knight, Harry Knight, and Leon Knight.

She is survived by her loving children: Richard Hadley (Rita), and their children Michael, Kimberly (Townsend), Eon, and Elliott, Donald Hadley (Kristina), and their children Michelle (Schultz), Brandon, and Christopher, David Hadley (Penny), and their children Jeremy, Noah, Ethan, and Grant and Katherine Broecker (William), and their children Samuel and Peter

She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Jester and Marjorie Ballenger, along with 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews and extended family. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held on September 24, 2025, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 481 West Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., with the service immediately following. Officiating will be Carol's nephew Rev. Ron Whitlock. All are warmly welcome to attend.
