Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Irma Caridad Burde (née Ginart) was called home to the Lord on January 27, 2022. Mimi, as most knew her, dedicated her life to loving others. At home, Mimi took a very active role in the young lives of her daughters as a Belleville Music Parent and PTA member. She found the joy and magic in the simplest of activities - be it having backyard adventures with her grandsons and raising butterflies each year or cooking and caring for friends, family, neighbors, and those who could not fully care for themselves. She will lovingly be remembered as a second mother by many of her daughters' childhood and adult friends. Mimi's beautiful heart was as big and open to all who knew her as the doors to her home: once she fed you a meal at her table, you were hers for life! True to her middle name Caridad (Charity), Mimi was always happy to give of herself to bring comfort to others. She worked for over 20 years as a Special Education teacher under Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark, affectionately called "Momma B" by many of her students. She served as Warden, Sunday School Teacher, and vestry member at Christ Episcopal Church in Belleville, and for many years led the organization of the church's participation in programs such as the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN), collections for well-digging and malaria vaccinations in Africa, and setting up the Mary and Martha Food Pantry, among many other efforts.
Mimi is predeceased by her parents, Ines Maria and Esteban Elpidio Ginart. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, sister Maria Cecilia Ginart, brother Luis E. Ginart, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer Marie and Ramon Garcia, Jr., daughter Emily Louise, and grandsons RJ and Matty Garcia. She is also survived by a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
At Mimi's request, no services will be held; however, a Celebration of Life will be announced in the spring to honor her memory and what would have been her 70th birthday. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mimi's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The American Diabetes Association, or The Lupus Foundation of America.
Mimi's family thanks you for your continued prayers and all of the love and shared memories that have honored her at the time of her passing.

It's almost 2 months since God took you away to Heaven.. I have sad moments every day, and you are constantly in my thoughts and Heart. I miss you yelling at the Cat in the Middle of the night when he would try to push things off the countertops... (He misses you too.. He sleeps on the foot of the bed on a little white hand towel.. too funny)... I miss the great smells of your awesome cooking when I come in from getting the mail.. Missing you and always remembering all the fun we had for the past 42 years... I'll see you one of these days again. Love ya Mimosa!
