Gregory Francis Burde, fondly known to many as "GMan," passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 25, 1946, Greg leaves behind a legacy marked by unwavering kindness, heartfelt generosity, and a lifetime of service to both family and community.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lois (Duggan) Burde, his father Francis Raymond Burde and his brother Christopher Francis Burde. He is survived by his sister Tracey and her husband Maitland, his son Branan and his wife Sharon, and his daughter Kacey and her husband Michael. He was the proud grandfather of Vivian, Penny, Marian, Emmett, Elsie, and Eve. He was a devoted and beloved friend of Margaret Schickley, and he leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graduate of both Bergen Catholic High School and Manhattan College, Greg went on to dedicate more than 50 years to the field of wastewater management, supplying the industry with both expertise and kindness. In 2022, Greg received the distinguished honor of being entered into the New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) Hall of Fame.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 24th from 4-7pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home at 257 Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff, NJ. A funeral will be held on September 25th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 117 Franklin Avenue in Oakland, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "The Francis Burde '49 Memorial Scholarship in memory of Gregory F. Burde '69". Gifts may be sent to Manhattan University, 4513 Manhattan College Parkway, Riverdale, NY 10471. Attention: Claudia Cardona
