Irma Joan Harbison

Irma "Joan" Harbison, age 83, peacefully passed away on December 26, 2025, at her home in Macon, Georgia. Born on February 27, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of Austin Briant and Ara Mai Webb.

For 51 years, Joan was the devoted wife of Jerry Dean Harbison, and she was loving mother to their three sons: Joel (Amanda), Nathan (Talitha), and Matthew. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Joan loved sharing stories and memories, often reaching for her photo albums to relive family adventures or proudly showcase her sons' accomplishments.

A woman of deep faith, Joan lived as a shining Christian example to all who knew her. She found comfort in reading her Bible and worshiping with her church family at the Sanctuary of Macon. Passionate about serving others, she actively participated in church activities and outreach ministries. Her creativity was evident in her love for sketching, often using her artistic talents to illustrate Bible school lessons.

Joan had a gift for conversation and truly embodied the phrase "never met a stranger." A quick trip to the store could easily turn into an hour-long visit as she delighted in meeting new people and making friends wherever she went. At home, she was a master in the kitchen, known for her homemade biscuits and pecan pie-family favorites, especially during the holidays.

Joan is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Jerry, and her parents, Austin and Ara Webb. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith cherished by her sons; grandchildren Britney, Sheldon, LaShae, Autumn, and Callie; great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Orrin; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
