Irma was born on June 4, 1922 in Saint Paul to John and Helena Schindeldecker. She was the third of 10 children.
Irma spent her young years growing up in South Saint Paul where she attended grade school and high school. She was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church.
Irma and Arnold Krech were married on November 18, 1941. Arnold was immediately drafted into the Army and was sent overseas. While Arnold was gone, Irma lived at home and worked at Minnesota Mining. Arnold returned home in October 1945. They lived in West Saint Paul and were blessed with two sons, Melvin and Gregory, along with 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She and Arnold spent many years in retirement traveling in their travel trailer, and spending winters in South Texas.
Irma passed away at United Hospital in Saint Paul on February 16, 2025 at the age of 102. She is preceded in death by her husband Arnold; daughter-in-law Sandra; granddaughter Leslie; parents John and Helena Shindeldecker; siblings Marvin, Lillian, Helen, Mildred, Alfred, Roy, John, Dorothy and Richard.
She is survived by her sons Melvin (Roxy) and Greg (Valerie); grandchildren Stephanie (Mike) Grossinger, Jenelle (William) Hill and Emily (Steve) Barton, Jack Limric and Joe (Leah) Limric; also 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services 11:00 AM Monday, February 24th, at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 115 Crusader Ave. W., West St. Paul. Visitation at church one hour prior to the service. Burial Riverview Cemetery.
