Irma Marie Ramsey, 70, of Columbus passed from this life at 7:18 p.m. October 29, 2025, at her home, with a loving family at her bedside to support her as she departed peacefully.
Born on June 4, 1955, in Columbus, Indiana, she was the daughter of John T. and Bertha M. Scrogham McGill.
On February 11, 1995, Irma married, Arthur E. Ramsey. Their partnership was anchored in mutual respect, tenderness, and an abundance of love. Irma's family was her pride and joy.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Arthur E. Ramsey, of Columbus; her children, Alex R. Schuette. of Madison and Amy Marie Hand of Columbus; and her granddaughter, Hayley Marie Hand, who brought an immense sense of joy and pride to Irma's heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Irma was a steadfast member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, actively participating in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Her dedication to her faith was unwavering and was a source of strength and inspiration to her throughout her life.
Her passions were many and varied but centered on the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed gardening, which served as an oasis of tranquillity for her family. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she often delighted those she loved with her delicious home-cooked meals.
Moreover, Irma had a tender and compassionate heart for animals, dedicating resources to animal sanctuaries. Her generosity and nurturing spirit improved the lives of countless creatures, embodying her innate kindness towards all living beings.
Irma's loving and kind nature made her dearly loved by many. Her warmth, and unwavering kindness will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. While her physical presence is no longer with us, the essence of who she was - a person of extraordinary warmth, compassion, and love - will live on in the memories of those who were privileged to know her.
As memories become treasures, Irma Marie Ramsey's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and comfort her family and everyone whose lives she touched. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
