Irmgard Josephine "Irma" Almgren

Irmgard "Irma" Josephine Almgren, 95, widow of Carl A. Almgren, passed away, Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born April 16, 1930, in Frankfurt, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Friedrich Wilhelm Kress and Anna Geiss Kress. Irma was a long-time dedicated member of Hunter Presbyterian Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the gift shop at the University of KY Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Robert) Sutton, Hendersonville, TN; two sons, Fred (Kristi) Almgren, Brentwood, CA and James (Debora) Almgren, Lexington; grandchildren, Jim Almgren, Mike Sutton, Matt (Kisha) Sutton, Kendall and Chase (Dana) Almgren; great grandchildren, Silas and Jake Almgren and Ava, Jake and Dawson Sutton, Marley and Maya Almgren. Irma's wishes were to be cremated and for family and friends to participate in a memorial service. The memorial service will be held at 12:00PM, Thursday, November 6th, 2025, at Hunter Presbyterian Church.
