Isaac E. George, Jr., age 104, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 10, 2026, at North View Estates, in Ellwood City.
Born Sept. 28, 1921, in
New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Isaac E. and Katherine F. (Weinschenk) George, Sr.
On Jan. 17, 1968, he married his beloved wife of 48 years, the former Helen Beichner, who preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 2016.
Isaac was a graduate of Shenango High School's first graduating class. After high school graduation, he faithfully served in the United States Army Air Corp, serving in World War II as well as Pearl Harbor. He is the last known survivor of Pearl Harbor, living in Pennsylvania. Isaac attended Geneva College. For several years, he was employed by People's Bank, working as the Vice President.
Woodworking was one of Isaac's most cherished hobbies. A proud Pearl Harbor survivor, devoted family man, and living piece of American history, Isaac leaves behind a legacy of courage, humility, and deep love that will continue to guide those who knew him. He was the past president of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Organization. Isaac served on the Neshannock School Board and was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his children, Thomas A. George of Duncansville, PA, Karen S. (Joseph E.) Mcllvenny, Nancy L. (Garry O.) Cushanick, and Daniel L. (Mary Ann) Broschart, all of
New Castle, PA; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen Cooper, grandson, Thomas D. Berkely, three brothers, Paul, David, and Joseph George, three sisters, Opal Lawrence, K. Jean Kelly, and Mildred Barris.
Visitation will be held on Feb. 13th from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle
A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation, at 6:00 PM, with Pastor William Webster officiating.
Burial will be alongside his wife at Graceland Cemetery.
