Isabel M. Martiny

Isabel Mae Martiny, age 93, of Kimball Twp., passed away on June 21, 2025. She was born on August 15, 1931, in Marysville to the late William and Emma Darby. She was the eldest of five children; Vera (Dale) Smith, Tryfena (Dick) Bigger, James (Judy) Darby and Roald (Margaret) Darby.
She married Walter John Martiny Jr. on April 17, 1954.
She attended school in Marysville and after graduation she attended a bible school down south in the Ozark Mountains. Walter passed in 1991. Isabel learned to drive at the age of 60, she took drivers training with sixteen-year-olds (both her and the other students got a kick out of it).
She worked until she was 80 at the Sandborn Gratiot Memorial Home, on the midnight shift.
She is survived by her children; Bill (Madeline) Martiny, Shirley (Dennis) Mintz, Linda Martiny, Ron (Sande) Martiny, Alice (Chuck) LaGrange, Wanda (Bob) Poole, Carl (Laurie) Martiny, Sally Martiny, Scott (Rose) Martiny, siblings; Vera (Dale) Smith, Tryfena (Dick) Bigger, James (Judy) Darby, Ronald (Margaret) Darby, and seventeen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Martiny Jr., daughter, Linda Martiny, and Vera Smith, James Darby, Rose Martiny and Shirley Mintz.
Services will be private.
