Isabel Nunez was born on November 19, 1932 in Paducah, Texas to Juan Alcacer and Refugia Sanchez. She was baptized into the Catholic Church on December 2, 1933 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas. Isabel was an active woman of her faith, teaching her children and grandchildren to know and serve our Lord. She enjoyed caring for her family - cooking tamales, tortillas and always providing you with a meal. Isabel was a reliable woman who supported many children in the community. She enjoyed spending time with her family watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorn football games. She enjoyed drinking coffee in the evenings and scratching bingo lotto tickets.
Isabel passed the morning of Monday, August 5, 2024 in Austin with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Faustino Nunez, and her daughters, Janis Nunez and Tina Iwig.
Isabel is survived by her children, Angel Nunes and wife, Sheila of Hills, Annie Del Toro and husband, Genaro of Giddings, Adam Nunes and wife, Bonnie of Bellville and Melissa Elizondo of New Braunfels; son in law, Keith Iwig; her nine grandchildren, Debbie Gonzales (Paul) of Haines City, Fl, Crystal Luna (Max) of Giddings, TX, Erica Nunes of Giddings, Eric Del Toro (Amber) of Giddings, TX, Sarah Del Toro Gonzalez (Didier) of Mission, TX, Marcus Del Toro of Giddings, Christine Nunes of Giddings, Rebecca Nunez of Giddings and Lance Nunez of Giddings, ten great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild as well as numerous extended family members.
Memorials may be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings or Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan de Valle in San Juan, Texas.
