Isabel Silva Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palm Heights Mortuary on Mar. 30, 2026.
Isabel Silva, age 88, of San Antonio, Texas, was called home by Our Lord on March 15, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy that will endure in the hearts of her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Born to Epifania Castellon on November 14, 1937, in Uvalde, Texas, Isabel was the third of seven siblings. She moved to San Antonio, where she eventually met her future husband, Richard. They married in 1961 and began raising their family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who dedicated herself wholeheartedly to loving and supporting her family. Her love for her husband was constant and enduring, and her family was always at the center of her world.

Isabel was an incredible cook, and her homemade flour tortillas, tamales and chicken spaghetti will always be remembered with love. She was also an avid bingo player. She enjoyed playing bunco, and hosted many bunco parties with her friends and family. She was also very fond of the occasional visit to the casino and the slot machines.

Isabel placed her family above all else and prayed for them daily. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much. Her spirit will live on in the traditions and memories she leaves behind. She will be sorrowfully missed.

Isabel is survived by her loving husband, Richard C. Silva; her daughters, Patricia A. Silva (Rafael) and Christine I. Thompson, and her sons Richard J. Silva (June) and George A. Silva (Barbara); nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life services to honor Isabel's incredible life will be held as follows:

A public viewing beginning at 4 pm on Thursday April 9, 2026 at Palm Heights Mortuary, 3711 S Zarzamora St. Also, a rosary will be recited in Isabel's name beginning at 6:30 pm. A Celebration of Life mass will be held at 10 AM at Our Lady of San Juan De Los Lagos, 3231 El Paso St.
