Isabelle Anne McLaughlin

Isabelle Anne McLaughlin peacefully passed away on January 16th, 2025. The only girl in a family of 4 boys (Lloyd, Jerry, Tom and Joe Weisensee), she grew up in Milwaukie, Oregon. Isabelle attended primary school at St. John the Baptist in Milwaukie, graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in downtown Portland in 1957, before attending Oregon State University. 

After college, Isabelle worked at the corporate office of Georgia-Pacific in the payroll department. She met her husband Jack McLaughlin while attending Oregon State, and they were married on May 5th, 1962, at St. John the Baptist Church. Married for 51 years, they raised their 4 boys in Milwaukie, Oregon.

Isabelle was known for her immense kindness and ease in frequent conversations with friends, family and often, total strangers – much to the chagrin of her children and grandchildren when visiting the grocery store or coffee shop with her! Throughout her life she encompassed a dignified and elegant demeanor that won the trust and hearts of everyone she encountered. Her signature gift of happiness and positivity shown through her smile, laugh, wit and fun sarcastic humor. All were overjoyed to see Isabelle walking in their direction, sitting across the bridge table, attending book club or in the bleachers at a sporting event cheering for her sons. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband Jack and son John. Isabelle is survived by her sons; Mark, Jeff and Dave; brothers Jerry and Joe; and her seven grandchildren, Colby, Brogan, Griffin, Aven, Mig, Jackson, Alex and many nieces and nephews.

Isabelle was a spectacularly special person, and her memory and love will be felt and remembered forever. 

Funeral Mass is Friday, February 7th at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Church with a reception following at Eastmoreland Golf Course.
