Isiah Mhoon, 92, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City, Mississippi. Born on August 14, 1932, in Calhoun County, Isiah lived a life marked by commitment, skill, and love for his family and community.
Isiah dedicated a significant portion of his life to the automotive industry, working as an auto mechanic at Hawkins Motors. Known for his craftsmanship and attention to detail, he earned the respect of his colleagues and customers alike, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him professionally.
At the heart of Isiah's life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Minnie Russel - Mhoon; their sons, Isaiah Mhoon and Christopher Mhoon; and daughters, Brenda Wofford, Demeeka Mhoon, and Etta Mhoon - Walker. His family was a constant source of joy for him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Isiah was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Mhoon and Etta Mae Williams - Mhoon. They instilled in him strong values and a work ethic, which he carried throughout his life and passed down to his children.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Church of the Living God in Calhoun City, Mississippi, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to come together to honor and remember Isiah.
Isiah Mhoon's legacy of love, dedication, and hard work will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His impact on the lives of his loved ones will be cherished and remembered for generations to come.
