Mr. Ismael "Milo" Olivares, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in Muskegon, Michigan with his family by his side. He was born in Elsa, Texas on January 15, 1947 to Alejandro and Rosenda (Martinez) Olivares. Milo was a true workaholic with a wide range of talents. Over the course of his 50-year career, he took on many roles, including painter, oil field worker, drywaller, welder, and CNC shear operator. He worked at Harbor Steel for two years and most recently spent 15 years as a CNC shear operator at GA Richards before retiring. He also did mechanic work on the side and owned a body shop when he lived in Texas. He found great joy in spending time with his family, playing sports, and hosting cookouts. A passionate outdoorsman, Milo was an avid hunter and fisherman. On May 22, 1965, Milo married the former Maria D. Rivera in Alice, Texas and she survives him along with two daughters, Maria (Julian) Espinoza and Marisela (Juan) Herrera; grandchildren, Julian "Sai" (Jade Flaska) Espinoza III, Javier (Giana) Espinoza, James (Alyssa) Espinoza, Lisa (Oscar Gonzales) Olivares, Esmery (Anthony) Gomez, Monica Olivares, Mysabel (Estevan) Garcia, Juan "Johnny" (Courtney) Herrera, and Mercedes (Josh) Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Jase, Nykaela, Oscar Jr., Mia, Dontae, Andre, Ayden, Gavyn, Ethan, Ryan, Anmery, Axel, Elliott, Sofia, Joslyn, Ariella, Colton, Jaxon, Chloe, Anthony Jr., Lucas, Nyeema, Royce, Mckinley, and Akilla; brothers, Fidel (Anita) Olivares, Fred Olivares, Richardo (Rhonda) Olivares; sisters, Gloria Diaz, Oralia Garcia, Esmeralda Cruz, Esperanza (Juan Trejo) Ortiz, Perla (Frank) Trevino, and Eva Gonzalez; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his sons, Ismael Olivares Jr. and Ramiro Olivares; parents; brothers, Alejandro Olivares, Danny Olivares, and Raul Olivares; and brothers-in-law, Luciano Gonzalez, Juan Rivera, Rene Cruz, and Eddie Diaz.
