Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center - Oaklawn Memorial GardensIsora Glynne Herrington Widgery, 87, of Indianapolis, was graciously taken into the hands of our Lord September 30th, 2025. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 20th, 1938 to Albert Owen & Fleedy Isora Herrington.
From a young age, Glynne loved to sing, cultivating a talent that would become her lifelong passion and ministry. She was a consummate professional vocalist and a devoted member of the musical community, serving as an Active/Professional Member and Associate Member of Indianapolis Matinee Musicale for most of her adult life. Glynne’s voice was angelic and amazing. For 30 years of Sundays you could find Glynne performing as a guest soloist in any church across Marion County, sharing her gift and touching countless lives with her beautiful voice.
She is joined in death by her loving husband, William “Arthur” Widgery and her oldest grandson, Jason David Widgery.
Glynne is survived by her three devoted children, William Arthur (Artie) Widgery Jr., Kenneth (Ken) Allen Widgery and Anthony (Tony) Owen Widgery along with five grandchildren, Jennifer Nichole Widgery Corkwell, Monica Lynn Ross, Katrina Hope Widgery and William Thomas Widgery with many great grandchildren.
Her kind, loving and giving spirit will always remain in the hearts and minds of our family, friends and the people she touched with her beautiful voice and kind spirit. She lived by the spirit of the verse: “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
