Israel Bob 82, of Beaumont, TX; passed Jun. 16, 2024.
Services are Saturday, Jul. 06, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church 3920 Cardinal Dr. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 11AM until Funeral at 12noon. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery Beaumont TX.
Israel Bob, Sr. was born to Preston, Sr. & Edolia Jackson-Bob on October 17, 1941, in Beaumont, Texas. He was raised, loved, and nurtured by his parents and spent most of his life in the Beaumont area. At an early age, Israel, Sr. accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He married Odella Ann Artis on November 6, 1962. From this union were born four children. Israel, Sr. was a loving husband (50 years), father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a long-time member of the New Bethel Baptist Church of Cheek, Texas under the leadership of the late pastor Robert Slaughter. His ties to the church remained strong until his transition into glory.
Israel, Sr. was a skilled and hard worker. He spent many years as a land surveyor with the Kohler and Kohler surveying company. He was an awesome cook, landscaper, avid hunter, and fisherman. He was a soul stirring singer with a crooner's style. He whistled melodies, loved to laugh, enjoyed sports, was cool, calm, and collected. He was a lover of people and taught many life lessons while exhibiting a quiet and humble spirit. He loved his family the most.
Israel, Sr. experienced some tough battles and trials in life. We are thankful these experiences weren't successful in making him bitter, but better and resilient. Before his passing, Israel, Sr. rededicated his life to Jesus Christ on Father's Day, June 16th, 2024, at the age of 82. Israel Bob, Sr. saw Jesus and it took his breath away
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston, Sr. and Edolia Jackson-Bob, his son Gerald Jerome Bob, brothers Melton Bob, Felton Bob, Rod Lee Bob, Samuel Bob, and the Reverend Joseph Bob.
He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Odella Ann Bob. His children, Leslie (Christopher) Mouton-Beaumont, Tx, Michael (Renata) Artis-Charlotte, NC., Israel, Jr. (Tanithea) Bob-Nashville, TN. Two sisters Betty Darby and Delores (Albert)Darby of Beaumont, Tx. Four brothers, Phillip Bob of Beaumont, Tx, Lloyd (Michelle) Bob of Houston, Tx, Paul (Brenda) Bob of LaPorte, Tx, and Preston (Irene) Bob, Jr. of Hayward, CA. Twelve grandchildren: Kevin Rogers, Blake Lewis-Mouton, Alex Kennedy, Amarys Mouton, Jeremiah Bob-Babin, Christian Artis, Caitlin Artis, Avery Artis, JaNaya (Aerod) Bob-Wyre, Lyndon Bob, Meadow Bob and Alexandria Bob. One great-grandchild, Xara Rogers. Two godchildren: Alana Ceasar-John and Todd Darby. Two aunts, Rose Andrepont and Thelma Bobb of Beaumont, Tx. A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
