Iva Mae Campfield, age 75, passed away on July 14, 2025, after a long battle with end stage renal failure.
Iva Mae was born in Seattle but grew up on the family farm in Birch Bay, Washington until 1964 when her mother met and married Jack Dunkin and moved the family to Custer. After high school she moved to Seattle for school and worked as a nanny for room & board. She earned a degree at Peterson School of Business in 1969. Iva Mae met her husband, David L. Campfield, on a blind date and they married in August 1970. They welcomed their first daughter, Kathleen, in the fall of 1972 and their second daughter, Kelly, in the summer of 1974. They raised their girls in Custer to be close to her family.
In 1983, Iva Mae began working as a bookkeeper for Sea K Fish Co. in Blaine, Washington. She worked for Sea K for 30 years until they closed their doors.
Iva’s passion was music. From a young age she played piano for school and church, which turned into occasional paid gigs for weddings and funerals. She joined the Music Study Club in the ‘80s and enjoyed playing piano for the gals and also enjoyed harmonizing as a 1st Alto in a trio with friends. For their year-end events she baked delectable desserts with recipes from magazines or good ol’ Betty Crocker cookbooks, always beautifully displayed for the club members. In her last years she continued to share the gift of music with residents of Highland Rehab Center once a month, playing her favorites from her books and for monthly church services.
Iva also enjoyed crochet and bead work, watching Jeopardy or her murder shows, and was the Bingo Queen in the nursing home, winning all the prizes and candies she would share with her visitors.
Iva Mae is survived by her daughter Kathleen Campfield (husband Ron), granddaughters Whitney (husband Daniel) and Truth, daughter Kelly Cissell (husband Dustin), and grandkids Shea, Damian, and Kylee.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ivo Roberts and Lillian Dunkin, and her brother Larry Roberts.
