Ivan Lewis Fay, 84, died Thursday, February 8th, 2024 at Aurora Baycare Hospital in Bellevue.
Ivan was born on August 1st, 1939 in Green Bay, WI to Lloyd and Viola Fay. He had one brother, Glen, and one sister, Shirley.
At an early age, he excelled at athletics, competing as a varsity athlete at East High School, where he graduated in 1959. He married Jo Ann McCarthy at St. Willebrord Parish on July 20th, 1963. The two were lifelong companions and friends, married for over 60 years. They were blessed with two children; Jeffrey and Kathleen.
Ivan worked at the former Mrs. Karl's Bakery with his father for over twenty years before working
for the United States Post Office until retirement.
Outside of his work, he loved being in nature and often spent time in Eagle River, WI hunting with his brother Glen, son Jeffrey, and best friend Jon. When he wasn't tending to his garden with his wife, he enjoyed bowling every week in his league at Ashwaubenon Bowling Lanes. He also attended many football games, being an avid Packer fan and season ticket holder.
Ivan took pride in his family and was very active in his children's and grandchildren's lives, never missing an event and always being their biggest supporter.
Ivan will be especially remembered for his infectious laugh and goofy personality that could brighten anyone's day. He was truly one of a kind and could make friends with anyone he met.
Ivan is preceded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Viola Fay, father and mother-in-law William and Amee McCarthy, sister Shirley and brother-in-law William Sample. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Fay; children Jeffrey (Amy) Fay and Kathleen (Kenneth) Maccaux; and four grandchildren (Natalie Fay, Emma Fay, McKenzie Maccaux and Reece Maccaux); and brother Glen Fay (Josianne).
Ivan's family would like to give special thanks to the ICU nursing staff at Aurora Baycare hospital for their excellent care and devotion to ensuring the comfort of his loved ones.
Family and friends may gather at Fort Howard Mausoleum, 1350 N. Military Ave., Green Bay, WI, Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm.

MICHAEL Paul BAUER

February 12, 2024

I will always remember his smile and his great personality. He knew everybody and was always in a good mood. I went golfing with Ivan a few times and had a good time listening to all his good shots he made. He had a way of expressing himself and could be very entertaining in describing his stories. Great imagination. Anyway he was a good man and will be missed by everyone and I was fortunate to have known him. May he rest in peace. Mike Bauer
