William "Bill" Terrien passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2025. He faced 16 years of cancer with grace, courage, humor, and stubborn determination that allowed him to defy the odds many times over.
A Green Bay native, he was born to the late Arnold and Jean Terrien on May 8, 1947 and graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army in Schweinfurt, Germany from 1967 to 1969. Upon his return, he began his career at UWGB, where he worked in public safety for 33 years. He married the love of his life Colleen Ditzman, in 1971. They moved into their starter home and never left, making lots of friends throughout the neighborhood. Bill could always be counted on to help a neighbor in need. Bill especially loved spending time with his two children and three grandchildren. He also enjoyed planting and tending his garden, riding his bike, watching the birds, listening to Motown and doo-wop music, reading Peanuts cartoons, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Colleen; two children, Dan (Angela) Terrien; Dawn (Bill) Tubbs; three grandchildren, Janelle, Neil, and Carl Tubbs; Dan’s stepsons, Camnren, Hunter, and Isaiah; seven step great grandchildren; seven sisters, one brother, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheryl Lynn; Dan’s stepson, Dylynn Sorensen; his parents, Arnold and Jean Terrien; two brothers, Tom Terrien and Bobby Terrien; parents-in-law, Donald and Coletta Ditzman; brother-in-law, Dale Ditzman; sister-in-law, Deanna Czechanski.
