Ruby E. Wouters, 87, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on October 12, 1938, to Curtis and Esther (Layman) Brown in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She graduated from West Green Bay High School. She worked for American Medical Security for majority of her life and ended her career doing what she loved most, caring for others at Home Instead.
Ruby raised two children in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She loved to spend time with her family and all things to do with animals, especially with her cat, Bailey. She also liked spending her spare time cooking and watching birds on her back porch.
Ruby is survived by her two children: Michelle (Casey) Schilawski and Daniel Wouters; grandchildren: Samantha (David) Brooks, Cody (Kayla) Schilawski and Alex (Breanna) Schilawski; and great-grandchildren: Austin, Eleanore, Mason, Hudson, Joshua and Eliya.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis; her mother, Esther; one brother, Jerry; and three sisters: Harriett, Nancy and Margaret.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 3:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay, Wisconsin. A time for family and friends to visit and pay respects will begin at 1:30 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at 5 PM at Drift Inn, 1535 N S Ashland Ave, De Pere, WI 54115.
