Ivan Frontz

Ivan Franklin Frontz, age 89, of Wauseon, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, with his family at his side at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Born on September 28, 1936, in Monroe Twp., Ohio, he was the eldest of 13 siblings of Clayton and Rosella (Lyberger) Frontz. At the age of 14, Ivan left home to seek work on a farm in Ohio.
In 1955, Ivan answered the call of his country and served with distinction in the United States Navy until 1957. Upon his honorable discharge, Ivan returned to civilian life and on October 9, 1964, he married Clarice A. Bachman in Wauseon, Ohio. He then embarked on a career as a journeyman mechanic at the former Parker Chemical in Morenci. His career was cut short due to an injury on the job that led to his retirement on disability.
Ivan was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles of Morenci for over 50 years. In his younger years, Ivan and Clarice enjoyed their many travels together. He found joy in fishing, especially at Lake Erie, and was also fond of golfing and bowling.
One of his most treasured relationships was with his granddaughter Kaitlynn "Kaitie." Their bond was strengthened through shared experiences at the zoo, fairs, homecomings, movies, Kaitie's cheerleading games, and her karate activities.
To cherish his memory, Ivan leaves his loving wife, Clarice; daughter, Leigh Ann (Paul) Myers; and a granddaughter, Kaitlynn (boyfriend, Antonio Gonzalez) Christenson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends for a memorial service at the American Legion in Morenci on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
