Ivan Letner Jr.

Ivan Eugene Letner Jr. of Earlysville passed away at home on March 4th, 2026. Mr. Letner was born February 6th, 1943 in Washington, DC.

Mr. Letner was a retired prosthetist and owner of Old Dominion Prosthetics and Orthotics in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mr. Letner was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Eugene Letner Sr. and Esther Lovedy Hammer. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Ann Letner Smith.

Mr. Letner attended the University of Chicago and New York University. He was a member of the Masons-Widow Son's Lodge #60 and The Elks Lodge #389 of Charlottesville.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ayers Letner of Earlysville. A daughter, Kara Letner Wood (Samuel Wood) of Mechanicsville, Va. , a step-daughter, Catherine Garrison (Vincent Garrison) of Stanardsville, Va., a step-son, John Falls (Darren Troxler) of Millsboro, De. and his sister Lovedy Ann Papproth of Orange, Virginia.

Mr. Letner was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.

Services will be presided over by the Reverend Joel Jenkins and held at Hill and Wood funeral home, Thursday, March 19th at eleven o'clock in the morning. A graveside service will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens with Mason and Elk rites. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge #389, 389 Elk Drive, Charlottesville 22911.
