Sandra Ella Letner, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Sweetwater Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dave Layman; her parents, Rex "Duck" and Carrie Mae Powers McHone; and her siblings: James Burgin (Rose), Ralph Dwayne, Aaron Anderson, Jerry Dean, Daws McHone (Pat), Clarence McHone, Nella Ruth McHone Broadwell, Shirley Lea McHone Trew, Patricia McHone Jerles, and Barbara McHone Bales (Clifford).
Sandra is survived by her loving children, Richie Layman (Cheryl), Patrick Shepherd (Clarissa), and Tonia Dake (John). She was a cherished grandmother to Tiffany Layman, Tabitha Owenby (Wess), Cody Layman, Nicole Howard (Cody), Allison Watson (Issac), Sierra Fisher (Tristan), Jace Shepherd, Kayla Couch (Jake), Zachary Dake (Machelle), and Austin Dake (Hanna).
She is also survived by her siblings, Gene McHone (Margie) and Rex McHone (Lois), along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
A graveside service will be held at a later date, with Brent Maddrun officiating.
