Dr. Ivette M. Cumba Gonzalez
September 24, 1966 - January 14, 2026
"You don't understand now what I am doing, but someday you will." John 13:7
With profound sorrow and deep faith in God's promise of eternal life, the family of Dr. Ivette M. Cumba Gonzalez announces her passing on January 14, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on September 24, 1966, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ivette was the cherished daughter of Jose R. Cumba and Maria C. Gonzalez. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree. She walked through life with grace, humility, and a spirit of kindness that made every space brighter. A beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Ivette lived her life in the service of others.
She now joins her beloved mother Maria C. Gonzalez, father Jose R. Cumba, sister Janet M. Cumba Gonzalez, her grandparents, other relatives, and friends in eternal life.
Ivette M. Cumba Gonzalez is eternally resting before her husband Hector Rosario, daughters Melissa and Jeanette Rosario Cumba, and sister Lissette Cumba Gonzalez, who will cherish her memories alongside the rest of her family and friends.
Her life was beautifully intertwined with that of her devoted husband, Hector, with whom she shared 30 years of partnership, laughter, and steadfast companionship. Their marriage was a quiet testament to commitment-built on mutual respect, shared dreams, and the kind of steady love that made their home a place of comfort for all who entered.
She was a mother whose presence made every room warmer. Her children, Melissa and Jeanette, were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into raising them with compassion and wisdom. She taught by example: to be kind, to work hard, and to find joy in the small, ordinary moments, and to keep your faith no matter what life throws your way.
Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering tenderness will forever echo in the hearts of those who were privileged to share in her journey. Friends and family will remember her for her love and dedication to her family, her support for our community, and her passion towards her profession which reflected her deep belief that every act of love is an act of God. Throughout her life, Ivette enjoyed taking vacation trips, making puzzles, being a girl scout, Church choir singing, folklorico dancing, majorette performing, taekwondo, and supporting her daughters in their endeavors and accomplishments.
Though her passing brings immense grief, her family finds comfort in knowing that she now rests in the embrace of the Lord she served so faithfully.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
