Ivy Mae Webster, 97, passed away August 27, 2025, at Aster Estates, Great Bend, Kan. She was born April 23, 1928, in Hodgeman County, Kan., to Clarence Elmer and Lelia Ruth (Ruff) Salmans. Ivy married James Bennett "J.B." Webster August 6, 1950, in Minneola, Kan. J.B. passed away February 1, 2016.

Ivy, a resident of Great Bend since 1969, spent her formative years on the family farm near Hanston. She was a homemaker and prior to raising her children, worked as a cosmetologist. J.B.'s professional journey led the family to reside in Minneola, Manhattan, Lawrence, St. John, Hays and Great Bend. Ivy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Lake Barton Golf Association, and an avid fan of KU and Barton Community College athletics, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Ivy was also a devoted supporter and cheerleader for her children's and grandchildren's events and activities. She was involved in bowling leagues, bridge clubs, and Rainbow Girls, she helped raise funds for the Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corp, and also volunteered at Red Cross bloodmobiles and local elections, but her passion was golf, where she meticulously taught the rules of the game to generations of junior golfers.

Survivors include one son Marc Webster and wife Diana of Great Bend; one daughter, Denise Shoff of Herington, Kan.; five grandchildren, Alaina Webster-Stoppel and her husband Jon, Christa Morrison, Erica Webster, Jennifer Fowler and husband Charlie, and D.R. Shoff; four great-grandchildren, Maddie Webster-Stoppel, Gabbie Webster-Stoppel, Maddox James Morrison, and Trey Fowler. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elmer Salmans; two sisters, Mary Worley and Fern Ross; and son-in-law, Dennis Shoff.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sept. 6, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Robert Selvakumar presiding. Private family interment will take place prior to the service at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sept. 5, 2025, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Barton Community College Foundation (to benefit the Music Dept.), in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
