J. Michael Beck, 65, of Columbia, Maryland, passed away January 24, 2026. He was born in Columbia, Pennsylvania to the late John C. Beck and Ruth Zielinski Beck.

Mike graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice. Mike served in the United States Secret Service as a uniformed officer at the White House and Foreign Embassies. After several years, he accepted a position as a Special Agent for the National Security Agency.

Mike had many varied interests; as a child, he caught butterflies and moths and has a small collection. Mike enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with college friends. Mike also had the ability to revive orchids. His all-time dream was owning a 1955 Chevy for several years. Mike attended many car shows with his "car guy" friends and family. Mike and his wife led and attended small group Bible Studies for many years.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rita Cicala. Michael also leaves behind his children, Ryan Lewis, Regan Gabrielle Beck, and Grant Michael Beck. Mike is also survived by his sisters; Deb (Paul) Holt, and Lynne (Ken) Houck, several aunts, 7 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Mike will be greatly missed by many.

The family will be receiving friends at a visitation on Sunday February 1, 2026, from 2-5 PM, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784. There will be a Funeral Mass on Monday February 2, 2026, at 1:30 PM, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029. Interment will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

The family requests *NO FLOWERS* due to allergies, in lieu of flowers; please consider making a donation to have a Catholic Mass said in his name; Mount De Sales Academy, https://www.mountdesalesacademy.org, or Mount Saint Joseph High School, https://www.msjnet.edu
