Sarah Guyton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Chapel - Trenton on Feb. 14, 2026.
Sarah Elizabeth Guyton, 86, of Trenton, New Jersey, departed this life on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Capitol Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, New

Jersey.

Born in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Frank and Gertrude Sikes on August 21, 1938, she was the last surviving child.

After Sarah and her family relocated to Trenton, New Jersey, she was educated in the Trenton public school system.

Sarah was married to the late Grover Gordon and had three children, Bobby, Patricia and Deborah.

Sarah was a lifelong member of New Holy Cross Church of Christ Written in Heaven in Trenton, New Jersey, where she served on the Senior Usher Board and supported the kitchen committee with homemade cooked dishes and baked goods. Sarah was a very good cook! She loved serving in the church and learning Christian scriptures. When she became unable to attend church, Sarah would faithfully watch religious programs on television.

She also enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening.

Sarah's love for her children was unquestionable as she provided spiritual guidance, a comfortable home, great meals and adequate clothing. She worked very hard to ensure that her children had what they needed to thrive. She was a great homemaker!

Sarah was employed by Mercer Street Friends in Trenton, New Jersey for many years until her retirement.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Grover Gordon; father and mother, Frank and Gertrude Sikes; and brother, Willie Frank Sikes.

Sarah leaves to mourn her passing her one loving son, Bobby Marshall of Willingboro, New Jersey; two daughters, Patricia Colbert of Brookville, Florida and Deborah Guyton of Trenton, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Michelle Colbert of Columbia, Maryland and Felicia Jefferson of Washington, DC; and two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Baynham of Columbia, Maryland and Naomi Jefferson of Washington DC; and a host of other relatives and friends

The family extends a special thanks to her daughter, Deborah Guyton, and many caregivers for all their love and caring.
