J. Michelle Crippen, 55, of Centreville, MD, passed on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the home of her parents.
Born in Cumberland, MD, on July 1, 1966, she was the daughter of George A. and Sharon (George) Wigfield. Michelle was preceded in death by her biological father, Kenneth L. DeHaven; grandparents, Alfred L. and Evelyn (Foreman) George.
Michelle was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. Following high school, Michelle became an elder care assistant. She also was employed by several retail stores. Most of all, Michelle enjoyed attending the Naval Academy football games and doing all kinds of crafts.
In addition to her parents, Michelle is survived by her former husband, James William "Bill" Crippen; sister, Traci Phebus; aunts, Jeanne Platt, and Debbie Poland; nephew, Kenneth Phebus; nieces, Elizabeth Phebus, and Nicollete Phebus; her cat, Snickers.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, from 3-7 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Rob Pierson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Christopher Poland, Richard Platt, Dale Riley, Bruce Holtman, Jr., Kenneth Phebus, Clint Hoxter, and Jay Riley.
In lieu of sending flowers, those wishing to honor Michelle memory may do so by making contributions to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/).
