James Robert "Bob" Findley, formerly of Willow Street, left this temporary world from Trillium Place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 88 years, to live forever in the presence of the living Triune God. Born on the family farm in Providence Twp., he was the sixth son of the late Andrew Joseph and Mable Elizabeth (Loump) Findley. He is survived by the love of his life, Beverly (Linard) Findley, to whom he was married over 50 years.
Bob was a lifelong farmer and in his younger years attended Stevens Trade School and did a lot of roller skating and bowling. Bob never met a stranger and could talk to anyone, often finding common ground in his farm-raised PA roots or his faith in Jesus Christ. He and his wife also operated a Shaklee nutritional business for 21 years. Bob attended Grace Community Church of Willow Street. He also belonged to Do-Pas-O square dance club and enjoyed hunting, travelling, modern western square dancing, word finds, playing cards, and spending time at the cabin.
He leaves to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his new life and memory, his wife, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by 5 siblings.
A Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel at Woodcrest Villa (Eagle Commons), 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Sigman officiating. There will be a viewing in the chapel from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in the Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery, 399 E. Penn Grant Rd., Willow Street, PA at 2:30 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association at alz.org
