J. W. WILLIAMS, a retired truck driver for Haley Greer, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. Born on March 16, 1935, in Waskom, Texas . He leaves behind a legacy filled with love and lifelong connections. J.W., known for his soft-spoken personality, touched the lives of family and friends through his wisdom, mentoring, and unwavering support.

Throughout his life, J.W. found joy in educating others about various sports. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge that he generously shared with anyone willing to listen. From the intricacies of baseball strategies to the nuances of football plays, J.W.'s passion for sports was contagious. Whether gathered around the television or sitting in bleachers cheering on a local team, he made every game an unforgettable experience.

Beyond his dedication to sports, J.W.'s free spirit led him to embrace a love for travel. Exploring new destinations was a way for him to expand his horizons and nourish his soul. From road trips across the country to adventures abroad, he cherished every moment spent discovering new places and immersing himself in different cultures.

J.W.'s career as a truck driver allowed him to traverse countless miles and witness the ever-changing landscapes of this beautiful nation. A devoted family man, J.W.'s proudest accomplishment was mentoring not only his children but also extended family members and dear friends. His guidance provided them with invaluable life lessons that they carry with them today. His love knew no bounds as he embraced his role as husband to Wanda and father to seven children and four stepchildren.

In addition to his children, J.W. leaves behind a wide and loving family. With forty-five grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, his legacy will continue to thrive through the generations. Each one is a testament to the love he shared and the values he instilled in them.

The memory of J.W. will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As his family and friends gather to honor his life, two services have been arranged. The first, a Prayer Service, will take place on December 21, 2023, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Starting at 7:15 PM, this solemn gathering will provide an opportunity to reflect on J.W.'s life and offer prayers for his peaceful journey ahead.

The second service, a Funeral Service, will be held on December 22, 2023, at Cedar Crest Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. Beginning at 11 AM, friends and family will come together to remember J.W.'s incredible journey and the impact he had on their lives. This service will be a celebration of his presence among us and a chance to find solace in cherished memories.

J.W.'s parents -- Annie Williams and Garfield Williams -- provided him with a solid foundation from which he flourished. Their love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable person we all knew. Now reunited with his parents in eternal peace, J.W.'s memory continues to shine bright as beacon of inspiration.

As we say goodbye to J.W., let us remember the lessons he taught us — to embrace our passions wholeheartedly, foster lasting connections with loved ones near and far, and find joy in every corner of this vast world. May his spirit continue to guide us as we navigate life's winding roads.
