Jack Bastian Obituary
Jack graduated from Mansfield High School in 1941, he was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and he was a self employed talented carpenter having built many homes in the area. Jack enjoyed his cottage in Pennsylvania and had many projects that he always said "Kept me young"
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Jack was predeceased by his siblings, Glenn Bastian, Lloyd Bastian, Virginia Smith, and Fay Jones, and his life long dear friend, Omer Sumner, along with many rescued animals.
It was Jack's wish that there be no formal services. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing are encouraged to make donations to one's local animal shelter or humane society.
Arrangements entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home.

I thank you Jack for being a man among men; for Queenie, for riding on the tail of that Ford truck, for being a good roll model. You were a man of honor and duty.

Visited a job site in PA he was building in the 60´s. Here he is crouching along the bank of the pond with my uncle Wilson Smith behind him. I swam in the pond he had a 2" x 10´´ diving board with a bulldozer anchoring it.

Lunch meetings at Grandma & Ginney's and all the available Bastian Men. Lots of Politics there. Only went to two of them. Uncle Jack said little, but when he spoke everyone listened. I Have a son like that who only speaks when something is important.
