Jack Beiter

Jack Beiter, 86, of Berwick, died Sunday, March 8, 2026 at his home.

Born September 26, 1939 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stanley and Kate (DeBach) Beiter.

A graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1957, he attended Bloomsburg University. He was employed as a bus driver for Greyhound for thirty years, and as Operations Manager for Motor Transportations in Hazleton for twenty years.

Jack was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Berwick and the Knapp Lodge 462 F & AM. He enjoyed collecting buses and watching car shows, and had a special love for animals.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Becky (Hons) Beiter; his daughter, Kimberly Witchey; his son, John Raymond Beiter; and his sister, Donna Gaito.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, the former Nancy "Nance" Bass; his son, Scott Turner of Berwick; two daughters: Emily Beiter Flick and her wife, Kelsey, of Berwick, and Rebecca of Drums; four grandchildren: Josh, Janae, Jace, and Ava; two great-grandchildren: Lillian and Olivia; two brothers: Stanley Beiter of Hershey, and Bob Beiter and his wife, Cindy, of Berwick; and two sisters: Marsha Kacyson of Apex, NC, and Sharon McMurtrie and her husband, Dave, of Berwick.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut Street, Berwick.

A private family interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery at a later date.
