Jack Bowen, 80, of Hull, passed away on November 22, 2024. Born on November 21, 1944, he was the son of the late William Vernon Bowen and Fannie May Massey Bowen.
Jack was an Evangelist preacher for many years, attending Lighthouse Church of God in Athens. He served in the United States Army and retired from Westinghouse Corp. after 32 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elise Williams Bowen; son, Lamar Bowen; sisters, Dolly Dalton, Evelyn Meadows, Frances Trotter, Wonita Swain, Margaret Kitchens; brothers, Roy Bowen, James Bowen, Frank Bowen, Cole Bowen, Junior Bowen.
Survivors include his children, Carolyn (Shane) Dawson, Laverne (John) Toney; grandchildren, Hannah Dawson, Matthew Dawson, Isaiah Patrick, Brandon Toney, Jordan Toney; great granddaughter, Emberleigh Rose Dawson; sisters, Marie Kennedy, Ethel Brock.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Lord & Stephens, Madison Chapel with Danny Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM and the evening prior, on Monday, November 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
