Jack Weldon was born December 9, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed this life peacefully in Texarkana, Texas December 15, 2025. He was the older of two sons born to the marriage of Mary Frances Lawless and Jack Weldon Ditmore, Sr. He began school in Bethany and completed high school in Elysian Fields excelling in all sports and graduating with the Yellow Jacket class of 1961. He received a baseball scholarship to Panola College and also attended Stephen F. Austin University.

He spent his career as a computer operator in Dallas and Shreveport. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and for many years had a side job running the scoreboard at Texas Stadium during Cowboys home games. The Cowboys organization paid him, but he often said he would have done it for free. After retiring from the computer industry in Dallas, Jack Weldon returned home to East Texas and helped with his cousin Gary Kelley's cattle business. He loved time hunting, fishing, playing pool, going to EF football games and, of course, watching Cowboys games. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Wayne Ditmore, and Jack's wife Kay Whitehorn.

Mr. Ditmore is survived by his loving daughters, Laura Lynn Ditmore of DeBerry, Rebecca Ann (Becky) Mayfield and husband Chris of Wills Point, TX, Mary Caroline (Carrie) Gill of Waskom; grandchildren, Mitchell Whaley Mayfield and wife Abby of Lindale, Matthew Jack Mayfield of Wills Point, Christopher Ross Gill of Waskom, John Samuel Gill of San Antonio, Thomas Luke Gill of Waskom; great grandson Issac Mitchell Mayfield of Lindale and nephew, Michael Ditmore of Waskom; his aunt Gloria Creel and uncle Jimmy Lawless, who, because they were close in age, were more like his sister and brother AND many, many cousins.

The family would like to thank Macie, Joy and Tori of Gentiva Hospice for the care you gave our dad in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association and/or Mt. Zion Methodist Church would be appreciated.
