Jack Eaton, 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday September 24, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1944, in Corbin, Kentucky to Rollie and Mae Eaton who preceded him in death.
Jack worked as a Metal Fabricator for over 30 years, and after 23 years he retired from Meijer at the age of 75. Jack was a loving, hardworking man who did all he could to provide and take care of his family. Jack married the love of his life Joyce Ann Eaton, on July 15, 1963, and they spent 56 beautiful years together before her untimely passing on September 6, 2019. Jack enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved spending time in his garden growing vegetables for his family and friends to share. He also loved doing yard work, spending time with his family, and his furry companion Sally. While our hearts mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and no longer in pain.
He is survived by his children, Oscar Ivey, Jackie (Troy) Dodson, Chris (Bev) Eaton, Kathy Leathers, James (Christina) Eaton; grandchildren, Jeff, Tara, Joseph, Justin, Jennifer, Brittany, Alissa, Megan, Dylan; 15 great-grandchildren; Brother; Charlie Eaton and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Jan Rose, Bill and Bobby Eaton, and grandson Troy Dodson Jr.
Visitation will be Friday October 4, 2024, Immediate family will be allowed to begin visitation at 3 pm and all other family and friends from 4 pm to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Funeral service will be Saturday October 5, 2024, at 10 am at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
The family would like to extend an invitation to everyone to join us in celebrating the life of Jack with a meal following graveside service at the MHCR Clubhouse located at 3145 S. Taft Ave Indianapolis, Indiana 46241. A special thank you to the MHCR’s for providing the family with a meal and location to celebrate our loved one.
