It is with deep sadness that the family of Jack Raymond Hall announces his passing on August 13, 2025.

Jack was born on July 31, 1940, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, to Lois Madory and Howard Hall. He was preceded in death by both parents; his stepfather, Arthur Madory, his stepmother, Deloris Hall; and his brother Bill Hall

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sue Ann Hall (formerly Sue Ann Griffin); his daughter, Julie (Tim) Mickel; his son, Eric Hall; and his cherished grandchildren, Griffin Mickel and Molly Mickel.

Jack lived a colorful and distinguished life. He graduated from Pompano Beach High School, where he excelled as a competitive swimmer. He later graduated from Penn State University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. While at Penn State, Jack was member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. There, most importantly, he met the love of his life, Sue Ann Griffin, with whom he happily spent the rest of his days on Earth.

After college, Jack honorably served as a medic in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and started his professional career at the Pennsylvania Health Department before joining Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. At Dow's request, Jack and Sue Ann, along with four dear colleagues and their families, relocated from Michigan to Knoxville, Tennessee to open a Dow Chemical subsidiary that would eventually become IT Analytical Services and later Quanterra, Inc. Later in life, Jack transitioned to the role of Director of Quality Assurance at Materials & Chemical Laboratory, Inc. (MCLinc) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Throughout his long career, Jack remained active in a number of professional and scientific organizations, including the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) in which he was named a Fellow, the society's highest award, for his distinguished service and leadership in developing standards for analysis of organic constituents in water. Though he attempted professional retirement, it never quite stuck-something that his family credited for keeping his mind razor sharp.

Jack was a member of Tellico Village Community Church.

Known for his vibrant personality and comedic wit, Jack was often the life of the party, enjoying evenings spent with friends and family, days on the boat, and most of all-University of Tennessee football and Lady Vols basketball games. A proud season ticket holder since 1979, he rarely missed a game of either team. Jack was an avid reader of history. psychological thrillers and, of course, The Journal of Chemistry. Above all, Jack treasured time with his two grandchildren and was especially proud to see both graduate from college.

A visitation and celebration of Jack's life will be held at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel, 11915 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, on Monday, August 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
