Jack Carl Hanke, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of 59 years to Margaret “Margie” Hanke; cherished son of the late Elmer and Dorothy Hanke; devoted father of Leslie (Lance) Morgan and Carla Mreen; loving grandfather of Emily (Hunter) Jurotich, Luke Morgan, Michael Aston and Lauren Aston; great-grandfather of one coming in July; dear brother of Ginger (Bob) Edwards and the late Gus (the late Pam) Hanke; treasured uncle of Dwain Hanke and Brett Hanke.
Jack loved the outdoors and found joy in caring for animals—feeding wildlife, cutting the grass on his riding lawn mower, and tackling any handyman project that came his way. He enjoyed spending time on the river, especially water skiing. Jack dedicated 42 years of his career as a Sheet Metal Worker and Riveter at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, a testament to his strong work ethic, drive, and perseverance.
Extroverted and friendly, Jack never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He was happiest in his cowboy boots, flannel shirts, and jeans, with a dog by his side. Jack was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Jack's name to Missouri Conservation Department or Assumption Catholic Church.
