Jack Dempsey Jones, age 79, of Pineville, KY, entered his Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 28,2024. He was born on August 22, 1945, in Middlesboro, KY, to the late George and Reba Noe Jones.

Jack was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.  He served his country with honor and pride, embodying the values of service and commitment that so many admire.  His military experience enriched his character, instilling in him a sense of duty and responsibility that he carried throughout his life. For 35 years, Jack was a dedicated employee of Hickman Building Supplies in Middlesboro, KY.  His long tenure made him a fixture of the business and a familiar face to many.

Jack is remembered for his kindness and love that extended far beyond his family. A beloved figure in his community, he was known affectionately as "Papaw" to most everyone who knew him.  Jack took great delight in cooking Sunday dinner for family and friends.  He created an atmosphere filled with laughter, delicious food, and warm memories. Jack's kindness was not just a trait, but the cornerstone of his existence; he is described by his wife Hazel as the nicest, most wonderful man she ever met.  One of Jack's favorite past times was following NASCAR.  He never missed watching a race while cheering on his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhart and Kyle Larson.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, George Burton Jones and Reba Elizabeth Noe Jones and siblings, Georgia, Homer, Johnny, Annie, Charlie, Billy, Christine, Joe, and Irene.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Hazel Maiden Jones; sons, Jack Dean Jones and Scottie Dewayne Jones; grandsons, Jake (Amelia) Jones and Tyler (Cassie) Jones; special step-grandson, Joshua Maggard; step-grandchildren, Tausha, Justin, and Jesse; great-grandchildren, Dre Gunn, Hayden Maggard, Lexi Maggard, Jacques Jones, Hannah Jones, Addis Maggard, Eliza Jones and Liam Jones; sister, Barbara Jean Jones; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy and Sarah Maiden; special neighbors, Wanda Littrell and Phillip and Clara Sue Miracle as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family of Jack Jones will receive friends on Monday, September 2, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jordan Graves presiding. Music will be provided by the New Vine Singers.
