Jack L. Keller, age 86, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 1:10 am on Monday January 5, 2026, at Miller's Oak Pointe, Columbia City. Born on January 9, 1939, in Covington, IN, he was the son of Mary (Stokes) Keller.
Jack attended Portage High School and graduated with the Class of 1957, then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in the Republic of China, Taiwan with the 13th Air Taskforce. On March 9, 1963, he married Barbara Roberson in Fort Wayne. Jack worked at Navistar (International Harvester) for 33 years. He delayed his retirement for 3 years as he was given his dream job of doing inventory.
Jesus was his Lord and Savior and the focus of his life. At his death, he was a member of the First Church of God in Columbia City. He volunteered in the church office for 6 years and served with his wife as greeters. Also, he helped people by transporting them for their doctor visits.
Jack had a sense of humor and compassion for people. He enjoyed the outdoors both hunting and fishing. When he was indoors, his favorite activity was watching IU basketball with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Keller of Columbia City; children Tina (Michael) DeLong of Montpelier, OH, Marjorie (David) Willems of New Concord, KY, and Laura (Scott) Bruce of Xenia, OH; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Keller and siblings Bill, Pauline, Thelma, and Pearl.
Funeral services for Jack will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday January 8, 2026, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling two hours prior to service.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be made to Heartland Hospice.
