Jack Edwards Lemar, age 70
August 17, 1954 – May 23, 2025
Jack Edwards Lemar, age 70, of Jewett, Illinois, passed away at 7:50 AM- Friday May 23, 2025, at his home.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM- Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Meyer Funeral Home-Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 2 hours prior to the service time.
The family would like friends to dress casually and wear a hat if you wish.
The burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery in Jewett, Illinois. In loving memory of Jack, memorials may be made to the family. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com
Jack Edwards was born on August 17, 1954, in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Lula Bell (Craig) Lemar.
Jack married Cindy Butler on January 28, 1995, and she survives.
Jack was a heavy equipment operator and proud member of the International Union of Operators and Engineers Local #841 for over 40 years. He enjoyed coon hunting with his brother Steve, traveling to many clubs and competitions in the area. On the weekends Jack could be found tinkering in his shop on one of his many projects, a demo car especially his white pick-up and most recently restoring a 1955 Farmall Lowboy for his grandson Mattox. He could often be found at the dirt track racing or enjoying time with friends. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, especially his grandson Mattox.
Wife of 30 years- Cindy Lemar of Jewett, Illinois
Children- Jack Lemar, Jr of Shumway, Illinois and Mandy Lemar of Jewett, Illinois
Step-Children- Jake Haga of Greenup, Illinois and Donte Blair of Belmont, Iowa
Siblings- Danny Lemar of Greenup, Illinois Steve (Evelyn) Lemar of Neoga, Illinois; Cindy Lemar (Greg Cornwell) of Greenup
Grandchildren- Sarah Lemar and Mattox Black
Many nieces & nephews and good friends survive.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, niece Amy Beth Moore and Brother-in-law Clint Butler.
