Victoria Diane "Vicki" Kocher, age 77

January 29, 1948 – August 28, 2025

Victoria Diane Kocher, age 77, of Sainte Marie, Illinois, passed away at 3:33 AM - Thursday August 28, 2025, at Helia Healthcare of Newton.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (Noon) – Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie, Illinois, with Father Tommy Phillip celebrating mass. The burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Sainte Marie, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 AM – Tuesday, at church. In loving memory of Vicki, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund, PO Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.

Victoria Diane, better known to her family and friends as "Vicki" was born on January 29, 1948, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Olivia (Barthelme) Sheridan. She married Benjamin Kocher on April 8, 1967, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2010.

Vicki graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1966. She worked at Pizza Man in Newton for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Vicki was a lifelong member of the Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and a member of the Sainte Marie American Legion Auxiliary and the Jasper County Home Extension.

Vicki is survived by:

Children – Brent (Amy) Kocher of Sainte Marie, Illinois; Rodney (Cheryl) Kocher of Bement, Illinois; and Jodi (Anderson "Lin") Mabrey of Evansville, Indiana

Grandchildren – Christopher (Cassie) Kocher, Jessica (Trent) O'Vell, Bailey Kocher and Emma Kocher

Great Grandchildren – Ezra O'Vell and Nora Kocher

Sisters – Becky Sheridan (Jan Himes) of Champaign, Illinois; Jayne (Mark) Calvert of Newton, Illinois; Cindy (Mark) Carlson of Mahomet, Illinois and Sally Cohorst of Effingham, Illinois

Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Donna Dryden of Grover, North Carolina; Evelyn Edwards of Springfield, Illinois; Jim (Norma) Kocher of Newton, Illinois; Paul (Jill) Kocher of Olney, Illinois and Glenn (Georgia) Kocher of Bible Grove, Illinois

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, husband, father and mother-in-law Arthur and Angela Kocher, brothers-in-law Melvin Kocher and Bob Cohorst, sisters-in-law Rose Kocher, Martha Kocher and Judy Kocher.
