Jack E. Loughrey, age 82, of
Tionesta, PA, formerly of
Kittanning, PA, died on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026. He was born January 1, 1944, in Kittanning, son of the late Henry W. and Annie E. (Olinger) Loughrey.
On June 8, 1963, in Kittanning, he married Shirley M. (Tregaskes) Loughrey, who survives. Jack was a union carpenter with the Heavy Highway Carpenters Local #2274 in Pittsburgh, PA, and worked for Dill Construction Co. in Latrobe, PA, until retiring May 29, 2000. He was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church in Kittanning. Jack was aptly known as a "Jack of all trades," a skilled tinkerer who seemed to have a solution for every problem. He loved working with his hands and could often be found in his garage, where he took particular pride in fixing up an old Jeep – carefully repairing, rebuilding, and bringing new life to whatever needed his attention.
Jack lived out his boyhood dream of living in the mountains of Tionesta. Since the age of twelve, his heart was in Tionesta. He has been reunited with his beloved daughter Bambi L. Ingram, who just went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2025. His heart ached since her passing but is made whole again.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by four daughters: Anita M. Troup and her husband Roger of Kittanning; Audra S. Loughrey of Tionesta; Shani D. Miller and her husband James of Kittanning; and Dawn E. Galway and her husband Thomas of West Brownsville, PA. His beloved Shih Tzu dog, Baby. Nine grandchildren: Erika, RJ, Ben, Nate, Ashton, Johnathon, Wyatt, Corey, and Jeffrey. Twenty-two great grandchildren: Makalia, Hudson, Henley, Brea, Hunter, Lexi, Gabby, Cadance, Leland, Phoenix, Isabella, Kelaiah, Boaz, Solomon, Anna, Mary, Taylor, Savanah, Cole, Jace, Jackson, and Jaysa. His great great granddaughter Stella. Two brothers: David L. Loughrey and his wife Connie of Worthington, PA, and Thomas W. Loughrey and his wife Donna of Kittanning. Several nieces and nephews. His very good friends whom he considered family: Jim Grida, Jerry, and Ray.
In addition to his parents and daughter, Bambi, he was preceded in death by his brother, William H. Loughrey, and his sister-in-law, Arlene Loughrey.
His family takes comfort in knowing that he will forever be resting high on that mountain because his work on earth is done.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Clarion/Forest VNA. The hospice nurses and support staff were so compassionate and made us feel like we were their family. We will never forget everything that you did for our Dad and for us. God bless each and every one of you.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Burial will be at Starr Cemetery in Tionesta. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214.
