He was born on November 5, 1932 in Marysville, KS to Elmer Ray Messick and Ethel Pearl (nee: Padgett) Messick.
Jack married Elizabeth Ann Tedrick in Vandalia, IL on January 10, 1953. She preceded him in death.
The U.S. Air Force veteran retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier after 33 years of service.
Jack is survived by a 2 sons: David Lee (Karen) Messick of Granite City and Michael Joseph Messick of St. Louis, MO; 2 grandchildren: Michelle Pryor and Sarah (David) Jones; 9 great grandchildren: Jada Spurgeon, Jayci Jones, Amyah Jones, Blake Jones, Shane Argent, Taynia Bennett, Marissa Kile, Erykah Craig and Zachery Garrett and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, Jack is preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Messick; a son, Daniel Allen Messick; a granddaughter, Amy Argent; a brother and sister in law, Delmer Dean & Edith Messick and a sister, Beverly Darlene Vader.
Per Jacks's wishes, his body will be donated to science.
