Lennette M Messick

Lennette's Life Story Lennette Marie Messick, at the age of ninety-two (92), passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Tidal Health Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland. She was born on August 2, 1933 to the late Willie A. Waters and Josephine A. Waters Hughes. She attended elementary school in Philadelphia and Tindley Temple Church. Upon returning to Upper Hill, Maryland, she graduated from Green Hill High School in Princess Anne, Maryland. From 1969-1971, Lennette attended the International Correspondence School to learn Shorthand, earning an independent study diploma in Business. Finally, she attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in Princess Anne, Maryland. Lennette was employed at the old Salisbury High School from 1962-1964. Then in October 1964, she accepted employment at UMES, where she remained until she retired in 1991. While living in Princess Anne, Maryland, Lennette was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Later on in life, Lennette became a Lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #10159 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #145. She was married to Clarence Douglas Messick for forty-one (41) years. Preceding Lennette in death were: her parents, Willie Waters and Josephine Waters; her brothers, Eugene Waters and William Freeman Waters and her sister, Constella Delores Smith and two nephews, William C. Smith, Jr. and Anthony Smith. Lennette also leaves to cherish two nieces, Delores Marie Shockley-Lashley and Deborah (Keith) Farlow and a host of nieces and nephews. Submitted With Love ~ The Family
