Jack Anthony Monnig

Jack Anthony Monnig, MD age 79 of Loudon, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at his home. Jack graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical school in Memphis. He practiced Urology at the Mayo Clinic for several years before retiring from the Huntington Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Virginia. Jack was humbled by his work with the VA; he especially experienced a feeling of giving back when caring for those who served our country. Journaling, writing, and physical conditioning were very important to Jack. He made sure these things were a priority for him every day. He loved living on the farm and spending time with his horse, Smokey. Jack was a loving and giving man, who would do anything for anyone. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucille (Ficke) Monnig; and his brother, Tim Monnig. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Monnig; her son, Michael West; his daughters, Emily Monnig and Molly Monnig; siblings, Joe (Susan) Monnig, Sherry Monnig, and Roch (Elaine) Monnig; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Randy Brown, Randall Windham, and Yana Andreea.A private service to honor and remember Jack will be held at a later date.
