Garry Key Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGill Click Funerals & Cremations - Loudon on Feb. 2, 2026.
Garry Lynn Key, age 74, of Sweetwater Tennessee, formerly of Loudon Tennessee, passed away peacefully.

He was a loving husband to Robin, and a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He will be remembered as a devoted mentor and highly skilled professional in the construction trade. A self-employed building contractor, he was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism. He retired in 2025 due to a brief illness.

His humor was contagious and his well known "Garryisms" brought laughter to everyone around him. He never met a stranger and had a lifelong love for drag racing and classic cars.

Above all, Garry was a guiding presence to many, and his legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and laughter will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Margaret "Marie" Key; siblings Charles "Jr" Key, Jim Key, Bob Key, Edith Skinner, Brenda Key, and Linda Haun.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Robin Key; daughters Shelly Roderick and Alyson (RJ) Sewell; sons Michael (Angie) Key, Christopher (Rayann) Miller, Joseph Mitchell, and Benjamin (Cyndi) McBride. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Devin, Maddy, BriAnna, Nathan, Makayla, Gavin, Nicholas, Brennus, Paisley, and Finley; and great grandchildren Annalise and Malia.

He is further survived by his siblings; Joann (Melvin) Bosch, Janice (George) Walker, Larry Key, and Terry (Diane) Key.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family will hold a visitation on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at McGill Click Funerals and Cremations from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. On Saturday, February 7th, friends and family will meet for a funeral service at 10:00am at McGill Click and then travel in procession to Mt. Zion Cemetery in Loudon for a graveside service at 12:00pm.
