Jack D Parscale

Jackie Douglass Parscale, son of Orla Jay and Kathryn Loraine Smith Parscale, was born July 23, 1949, in Clinton, Missouri and passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 in Rolla, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Elmer Joseph and Cora Angeline Douglass Smith; his paternal grandparents, Jesse Matthew and Ivy Ray Mayfield Parscale; and his paternal step-grandmother, Bessie Parscale.
Jack is survived by a sister, Joyce Loraine Lenox, and her husband, Kennard Robert, of Rolla, Missouri; three nieces, Angela Kathryn Mallery, and her husband, Mike, of Rolla, Missouri, Paige Lenox George, and her husband, Michael, of St. Charles, Missouri, and Karrie Lenox Brooks, and her husband, Seth, of Athens, Alabama; a nephew, Hamilton Jay Lenox, and his wife, Angelica, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; four great-nieces, Jessica Joyce Mallery, Kathleen "Kate" Mary Mallery, Savannah Marie Mallery and Katherine '"Kat" Elise Brooks; two great-nephews, Robert Lester "Bo" Brooks, and William Hamilton "Will" Brooks who passed away in December of 2022; a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in Clinton, Missouri, and graduated from Clinton High School in the Class of 1967. He then attended Central Methodist College, now Central Methodist University, in Fayette, Missouri. While there he was a member of the A Cappella Choir and became a lifetime member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. He graduated with a degree in music education in the Class of 1971. He began teaching in Lebanon, Missouri and taught elementary music in all four elementary schools before becoming the music teacher exclusively at Donnelly Elementary School. During those years, he established a special singing group of select fourth, fifth, and sixth graders, called "The Donnelly Minnesingers" that sang at many school, local area activities, and other occasions. After ten years of teaching, he changed careers and, along with his parents, purchased Flower Boutique, Inc. in downtown Lebanon. For the next eight years they operated the business until Christmas night in 1987, when the shop burned in a terrible fire that took several downtown businesses. Jack then went to work for Holman-Howe Funeral Home where he became the office manager, a position he held for over thirty years. He was a licensed funeral director and was well versed in the operations of the funeral home and helped to oversee the day to day operations of the main office.
Jack made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized at the Clinton First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). After moving to Lebanon, he became a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and served in various capacities for several years. He was a member of the church choir, had served as a
Deacon, an Elder, and as chairman of different committees including the church board. Jack maintained a deep abiding faith and had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior.
His interests included music, of course, decorating, both his home and helping with his families' homes, shopping, going to concerts, movies, and to nice restaurants. He had a passion for Broadway musicals and had performed at Springfield Little Theater in his younger years. He had sung for numerous weddings, funerals, club meetings, church services, and other occasions. He possessed a delightful, sarcastic sense of humor and enjoyed laughing. He loved his family dearly and had made many wonderful friends throughout his lifetime.
Jack was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and was a kind and caring person. His family and friends will have many fun and touching memories to look back upon and will lovingly remember him with great fondness.
